Introducing Me!

Hi guys!! Kenzie here. As of right now, I’m pretty positive that every view on this blog has been from my friends. Shoutout y’all, you guys are the best. That being said, I do still want to take a tiny moment to just yap about myself, just in case this goes somewhere someday.

Obviously my name is Kenzie. My credentials for this blog include my immense sweet tooth and love for music. My first job when I was in high school was working in a pie shop, where I started as a cashier and eventually wormed my way into the back where all the magic happened. I worked there for a few years and found that I actually really love baking. I started baking things at home, and between work and the beginner recipes I was practicing at home, I gained a small skill set. When I moved out on my own for the first time, there were more than a few sleepless nights that resulted in me testing new recipes just in time for my roommates to wake up for the day (tasting parties at 6 am hit different, and yes I was that horrible roommate at 18 who baked in the middle of the night. Oops). Over the years, I’ve continued to love baking, though I will admit I do it less than I would like. Especially from the months of May to September (It’s simply too hot to be bothered to turn on the oven if it’s not necessary). Lately I’ve really been feeling the urge to get back into baking, and I’ve got some fun recipe ideas that I’m excited to try and share with you guys. That’s part of why I’m starting this blog. It gives me the chance to grow and explore my passions and maybe even share that with others.

The other aspect of this blog, where I share a playlist with every post, is something I’m pretty excited about too. Music has always been a huge part of my life. I got my first MP3 player when I was 7, and I remember when I was punished or grounded as a kid, back before I had a phone, my parents would take away my CD player and MP3. I started singing in church choirs and district choirs when I was in elementary school and eventually joined the school choir when I was old enough, where I stayed until I graduated high school. I loved being surrounded by people who loved music as much as I did, and even though I’m no longer involved in choirs, I still find myself surrounded by people who love music the way I do. I thoroughly enjoy sharing music with these people, and I feel like between my own exploration of different genres over the years and my friends’ incredible taste in music, I’ve amassed quite the library of tunes to be able to share with y’all.

I’m really looking forward to this blog, and I can’t wait to share some really cool things with y’all. I hope you stick around for the ride, and hey if you have any crazy (or not crazy) recipe ideas, drop them in the comments. I’ve got some ideas of things I want to try, but I’m always open to suggestions and requests. I’m gonna drop a link for a playlist below, it’s just a playlist of some of my most favorite songs ever (another little “get to know me” thing). Give it a listen if you want, and know that you’ll probably see those songs again somewhere on this blog eventually.
